In May 1990 Archie Roach released his debut album, Charcoal Lane. Its impact was immediate. The album went on to go gold and won two ARIA awards, was in US Rolling Stone magazine’s Top 50 in 1992 and won an inaugural Australian Human Rights Award. The song, Took The Children Away from the album went on to become the anthem for Australia’s Stolen Generations.
